More than four hundred people, from newborn babies to pensioners, turned out to enjoy a day of cool sounds and warm sunshine at an event organised by a group of Fixers to bring their community together.

The cream of Bournemouth’s musical talent were joined by other bands and artists from outside the area at Boscombe Chine Gardens to showcase their diverse styles....ranging from hip hop, to reggae and rock.

The event, called Bourne 2 Stand Out, was the idea of 24 year old Theone Coleman, a local musician who rallied volunteers of all ages to support the festival, which has taken him months to organise with the help of ITV Fixers.

Theone’s project was to organise a free event to celebrate and unite the diverse community in the Boscombe area. Speaking afterwards, he said, ““It was one of the most stressful times of my life but it was exhilarating, wonderful, brilliant.

“I wanted to bring together a wide range of ages but thought it would be mainly young people. I was really surprised to see families and people of all ages there. I was even high-fived by an 81-year-old and an 85-year-old!

“We were so lucky with the weather. I couldn’t sleep for worrying about it, but the sunshine really made the event for me.”

The ITV Fixers creative team were present to record a music video of Theone’s specially-written track called Lifted – a song based on his own journey from prison to being an example to other young people. The resulting video will be used to encourage other young people to avoid getting into trouble. Said Theone, “The biggest highlight was making the music video. All the crowd at the front went really crazy.

“The council have said they want us to do it again. It was hard work to put together but we now have a whole year to plan the next one – fantastic!”

The story of Theone’s Fix will be told on an ITV Meridian’s regional news on Wednesday 30th September.
